Please read the important notice below from the Executive Director of the Women’s Coalition of St. Croix.
The Women’s Coalition of St. Croix is saddened and troubled by the theft of funds from our agency. This situation mobilized us to recommit to those entrusted with our care, whether physically, emotionally or fiscally. In doing so, we have secured financial procedures that require tighter controls and oversight, so that we can prevent the reoccurrence of any similar situation. We thank you for your continued support of our mission against violence and empowering those impacted by violence in our community.
This situation reinforces the devastating impact the actions of an individual can have on others. Three years ago, the Women’s Coalition of St. Croix initiated the complaint that resulted in the investigation by federal authorities, which led to the arrest of a former employee. We remain committed to serving victims and survivors of violence and families in need. We look forward to continuing our partnerships with you to promote peace and healing for victims, survivors and our community, as we approach our 38th year of advocacy and providing services on St. Croix.
Please contact Clema Lewis, Executive Director of the Women’s Coalition of St. Croix, with any questions regarding this matter.
We thank you again for your continued support.
