The blog post by the staff of the National Network to End Domestic Violence’s resonated with us as we mourn the loss of life and are shocked by the injustice that continues to be revealed across the nation. The consequences should confirm for us all that justice–without biased judgments–will be served when unnecessary and deadly force is used on unarmed and nonthreatening citizens. We need to be confident that institutionalized racism will not determine the outcome without appropriate consequences, regardless of the violator’s position or skin color.
We have much to do to for this to be our reality, and it will take all of us to make it happen.
