End Slavery & Human Trafficking: Look Beneath the Surface

Posted: January 9th, 2018. Filed under: Help For Crime Victims, News / Announcements, Theme Months.

January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Yes, human trafficking happens in the USVI.

Could you spot a victim of trafficking in a crowd? Probably not — victims may not look any different than anyone else you see every day. This video introduces you to the HHS Look Beneath the Surface campaign. Through this campaign HHS works with grantees and stakeholders to raise awareness of human trafficking and the factors that make certain populations more at risk.

If you or someone you know is a victim or survivor of human trafficking or slavery, please contact WCSC for supportive services, including crisis intervention, emergency food and shelter or advocacy. We are here for you, 340.773.9272
