Description: The National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims is nationally recognized to honor and remember homicide victims and the impact on surviving loved ones and communities. September 25, 2017 will be the 10th anniversary of the date’s national designation.
The Women’s Coalition of St. Croix will host a community gathering, Reflections of Life & Love, for the 10th anniversary of the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims starting at 6:00 p.m., in the Amphitheater at the Sunny Isle Shopping Center.
The VI’s own musical superstar, Mada Nile, will be the special guest performer for the event, sharing messages of love and positivity with the community. She will perform No One Knows, and premiere the song’s poignant video that shines the light on a serious Territory-wide issue. Broadcaster Rashidi Clenance of ViVid Streaming Radio and Sun Daddy Promotions will host the event.
The Wall of Remembrance, a visual presentation of names of murder victims on St. Croix since 1974, will be shown. Surviving loved ones of murder victims will have opportunities to express themselves during “Reflections of Love,” the open mic part of the program.
WCSC’s public service announcement for the USVI Says NO MORE campaign, starring Mada Nile, Tim Duncan and other USVI personalities will be shown. Opportunities will be available to sign the campaign pledge promoting the end of domestic violence and sexual assault in the Territory.
