Compassion, respect and healing is shared when victims and survivors come together and support each other in healing. We offer three support groups for women: domestic violence (in English or Spanish), survivors of teen sexual assault and adult survivors of incest. Each group meets once a week for two hours.
Contact Josefina Cruz, Director of Crisis Intervention/Bilingual Spanish Counselor, (340)773-9272, for more information on group meetings. All calls are confidential.
We provide an environment of emotional safety to allow group members to share their experiences and strengths as they move toward healing.
Adult Survivors of Incest
The effects of sexual abuse during childhood and early adolescence can be far-reaching. This group offers survivors hope and guidance to survivors in dealing with their feelings surrounding the abuse.
Domestic Violence (English)
Victims find strength and courage in meeting with others who have survived similar experiences in abusive relationships. Women can get help in breaking down these feelings of isolation and loss and learn skills to help with moving beyond the effects of victimization.
The group is open to victims and survivors of any type of domestic violence, including physical, emotional, verbal or sexual abuse.
Positive parenting strengthens families. Our parenting classes are culturally sensitive and offer effective approaches to parenting, including how to handle conflicts positively. We provide parents with information and support through group discussions, guest speakers, videos, and resource materials.
Parenting classes are run by trained facilitators. Sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
