Child Abuse Prevention Month (CAPM)

Every child deserves a safe and healthy childhood, free from neglect and other types of abuse. Join us in promoting healthy relationships and safe online experiences for children. Shine the spotlight on creating safe spaces–physical and digital–for children to play, learn and thrive in: speak with them about online safety, uncomfortable and comfortable touch, and grooming in age-appropriate ways.

In an emergency, please call 911 from a landline phone or 340.772.9111 from a mobile phone. Please contact the VI Department of Human Services for information or reporting on situations involving the welfare of a child:

  • 340.712.2119 – Office
  • 340.642.2349 – Reporting from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • 340.642.6277 – Reporting after 5:00 p.m.

If you or someone you know needs help or has questions about child safety and abuse prevention, please call our main office/crisis center at 340.773.9272 to speak with our child counselor.

Our 24-hour hotline, 340.773.9272, is available for direct contact with a caring advocate or staff member for crisis intervention.
