Healing and Speaking Our Pain: Remembering Our Loved Ones
Sunday, September 25th – National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims
All are welcome to join us for very special event in solidarity with the surviving loved ones of those whose lives have been taken by homicide. We will be offering safe space for healing at WCSC’s new Community Space in our old location, 7 East St., Christiansted. There will be a special program, including an open mic segment for loved ones to express their feelings, A Mindfulness Moment with Charlene Springer, and other healing activities.
The Wall of Remembrance, a visual presentation of the names of people who have been murdered on St. Croix since 1974, will be featured during the traditional Moment of Silence segment of the event.
Sunday, September 25th will be the 15th anniversary of the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims’ designation by the U.S. Congress, to recognize the impact of homicides on surviving loved ones and communities.
