“Words Have Power” IG Live Poetry Reading
Words evoke particular feelings when read or said. Every April, for Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month, we invite you to join us on Denim Day – the last Wednesday in the month, to speak power through words that heal, forgive reveal, transform!
Our annual Instagram Live event will be a poetry reading of original pieces from gifted writers, with works from some of our favorite world-renowned poets included. You may hear poems by people who have experienced sexual violence, our staff and other supporters and maybe a lil’ something by Audre Lorde – one of the founding mothers of WCSC. Our Instagram handle: @wcstxvi. We’ll be feeding the inspiration with Words Have Power, at 2:00 p.m., AST.
What are your power words? Share them with us on our IG feed: @wcstxvi.
