We have discovered that there are phony emails being circulated that may appear to come from employees of the Women’s Coalition of St. Croix, or someone whose name you would recognize. We have notified the authorities and have taken steps to increase our email security. Please know that the Women’s Coalition of St. Croix and its staff would never ask you to reveal sensitive information through texts or emails, nor would we ask you to purchase gift cards or other currency and send us the codes to redeem them. Please be aware and stay safe.
Thank you for helping to shine the spotlight brilliantly during October 2021! Thank you for participating in VI Wear Purple Day, to spread awareness with the theme color in the Territory. Thank you for honoring the memories of those whose lives have been lost and in supporting survivors of domestic violence at the livestreamed, virtual edition of “Take Back the Night,” on National Purple Day. Many of your participated in “DV In Special Populations,” our first DVAM virtual forum. Please share your thoughts if you participated in our virtual forum, “DV in Special Populations,” completing our brief survey. Click here to access the event video on our YouTube channel.
You helped to finish out the month strong with our second annual “’Drive Out DV’ Motorcade.” Moving from Christiansted to Frederiksted, with the Mango Tree Riders cyclists, the STX Jeep Club and our DVAM partner agencies representatives, 24 vehicles of all kinds, decorated in purple. Thank you all for letting victims and survivors know that support is here, always.
We are rescheduling the general meeting for the Anti-racism Project. We will let you know as soon as the date has been confirmed. A very special thank to those of you who are ready to continue supporting anti-racism in our community. The Time is Now: Anti-racism in the USVI, will continue with task forces to decide on the next action steps and where they should be focused. Videos from all four sessions of The Time Is Now: Discuss, Digest & Dismantle Racism In The USVI are available on our YouTube Anti-racism playlist.
Our annual print newsletter will be out soon. Check here for updates on when it will be posted, with news on what your generous support has made possible for victims and survivors and what’s been happening with our programs and services. Click here to read Voices, the 2021 enewsletter!
