This year marks the 15th observance of the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims (NDRMV), on September 25th. Please join us for a special gathering in solidarity with surviving loved ones. Healing and Speaking Our Pain: Remembering Our Loved Ones will be held on Sunday, September 25th, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at WCSC’s newly-constructed community space at 7 East St., Christiansted. This family-friendly event is free of charge, and will include an activities table for children. Mask wearing will be required and sanitizing stations will be available at the venue. Call our main office/crisis center, 340.773.9272 with any questions about the event. Visit our calendar page for more information.
If you missed the September edition of our monthly radio show, Let’s Talk: EEEEzing Into Change, on September 7th, we focused on NDRMV. The loss of life by violence in our communities continues to affect us all. Clema S. Lewis, our executive director, and Sheelene Gumbs, our crisis counselor, talked about dealing with grief, support for survivors and how we can heal as individuals and communities. Visit our NDRMV.VI Facebook page to view the livestream.
Your participation will support peace and healing. Proceeds will benefit WCSC’s advocacy, programs and services for people impacted by violence.
